NEWARK, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Michigan’s Student Financial Services Bureau, a division of the Department of Treasury, recognized Jennifer Chandler of Sallie Mae – the nation’s saving, planning, and paying for college company – for her efforts to promote financial literacy and college preparedness to Michigan students, families, and guidance counselors. Ms. Chandler’s work with the Bureau has included educational webinars, presentations, and newsletter articles reaching families and counselors across the state.

Sallie Mae helped kick off a new webinar series offered by the Bureau designed to share information on funding post-secondary education and college access. Ms. Chandler, along with officials from the Bureau, shared free college planning tools, college cost calculators, and other resources available to Michigan families to make a plan for college. Ms. Chandler was honored at a recent Bureau meeting in Lansing by Anne Wohlfert, director of the Bureau.

The Michigan Department of Treasury Student Financial Services Bureau encourages students to pursue postsecondary education by providing equality of access to student financial resources and information.
