This July Sallie Mae, the nation’s No. 1 financial services company specializing in education, will recognize the hard work of college and university business officers with donations of new books for children in need. At the National Association of College and University Business Officers Conference (NACUBO), July 9-12 in Tampa, Fla., attendees can support Reading Is Fundamental’s work to motivate young children to read by visiting the Sallie Mae booth.

“Instilling the love of reading in all children is an essential building block in their education,” says Kelly Christiano, who leads the Campus Solutions and Savings businesses at Sallie Mae. “We’re looking forward to making a meaningful donation to Reading is Fundamental at NACUBO and getting books in the hands of hundreds of children.”

For each person who leaves a business card with booth staff, fills out a contact sheet or attends one of Sallie Mae’s speaker presentations, Sallie Mae will donate a book to RIF. ADP, Follett Higher Education Group and Johnson Controls will also support RIF with book donations at the conference.

For nearly 20 years, The Sallie Mae Fund, a charitable organization sponsored by Sallie Mae, has supported RIF programs with grants totaling more than $1 million and contributions of more than 164,000 books.
