Bank Accepting Applications from Students Pursuing Degrees in High-Demand Professions
SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sallie Mae Bank has begun accepting applications for its annual Utah
Scholarship Program, which will award more than $100,000 in scholarships
for the 2019-20 academic year. The Bank will award $5,000 scholarships
to Utah students whose courses of study will lead them to careers in
some of Utah’s most in-demand professions. Since its inception in 2007,
the program has awarded more than $1 million to Utah students.
Sallie Mae Bank’s Utah Scholarship Program is available to full-time
students in undergraduate or bachelor’s degree programs in nursing,
respiratory therapy, teaching, engineering, or technology. Applicants
must be U.S. citizens; have a GPA of 3.25 or higher; and be attending an
accredited institution. Applicants must also submit an essay describing
their academic and career goals, community service, and include a copy
of their most recent Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
